7.4.8.1 Establishment of criteria & standards

for the acceptance of the deliverables

As stated above, the Contracting Authority should at the outset establish the criteria that the final product must meet before been accepted. These criteria vary according to the type of final product. Indicative examples are the following:

Target dates
Major functions
Appearance
Performance levels
Ease of use
User friendliness
Running costs
Reliability
Security
Capacity
Potential to be recycled
Low energy consumption

It should be noted that the quality targets set for each deliverable during the development of the Quality Plan (refer to 7.4.4.1) are normally part of the overall acceptance criteria of the final outcome.
